Is there a more hauntingly consistent MC in the game at this moment of time? Woods' track record over the last decade—even excluding Armand Hammer—goes toe-to-toe with heavyweights of the industry. 2022's second meeting with Woods sees him partner up with Messiah Musik. The question isn't whether Woods will show up, because at this stage it’s a guarantee. The question asks if Messiah Musik can match verbiage with the right scenery; can MM find the right sense of space and metaphysical soundscapes to comfort the abstract entity? The simple answer is: yes, absolutely. A partnership relies on the almost telepathic understanding between the front and back, the conscious and subconscious. In this case, Billy Woods, the conscious, and Messiah Musik, the subconscious. However, you could just as easily reverse the roles. The somber setting that Church thrives in is as calming as it is unsettling - perfectly balanced. Woods is two for two in twenty-two. – Peter (8.5/10)

Community Reviews:

Billy Woods comes back with the same energy he presented on Aethiopes for his 2nd release of 2022. As always, woods caresses our ears with his abstract and meaningful bars and all over these solidly produced beats from Messiah Musik. Other contributors such as ELUCID and Akai Solo also add a nice touch to this album. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that Woods will be able to keep up with the incredible work he has been putting out over the past decade. – @microwaved.spoons (8.5/10)
